Transformative Imagery

Davenport - transformative imageryTransformative Imagery, edited by Leslie Davenport, gives an overview in guided imagery for anything from pain relief to mental health to social change.

Aimed at professionals, the brief asked for strong type and a transformative image. The image used on the final cover comes from the book itself, painted by Laury Rappaport. It’s quite a hefty book, which meant I was able to have fun with the spine. The frame on the back is a nod to the box styling in the interior, typeset by Tom Alexander.

The Self-Help Guide for Teens With Dyslexia

The Self-Help Guide for Teens with Dyslexia by Alais Winton is an easily digestible guide for teens with dyslexia, focussing on school settings.

The brief called for a striking, type-led design using only the font OpenDyslexic, which would appeal to teens and schoolchildren but also their parents and teaching staff. This matched the interior, set in a loose sans serif, to create an over-all easily accessible and dyslexia-friendly end result.
